Cassandra Monique Batie also known as Andra is a American R&B and soul singer/songwriter. She is the recipient of many awards, like the Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nominations for an Academy Award. Andra is not just an old-fashioned R&B artist, but also a gospel singer. Her jazz roots and blues can be heard in a style which is effortless as well as elegant. Her debut album, Cheers To The Fall (2015), was a smash record in the hiphop/R&B genre which earned her a variety of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017), her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack, earned her both awards. Amen (2019) and Make Your Troubles Gone Away (2021) and the Golden Globe award-winning portrayal as Billie Holiday for The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2017) has helped to build anticipation. Andra has been born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. As a child living in San Diego and surrounding areas her first performance was in church and enrolled to at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. As she graduated from the School of Performing and Creative Arts, Day started to focus on contemporary R&B and Pop but soon found that her roots in soulful jazz were the ones she was drawn to. The turning point came after a show she performed was caught by Kai Millard Morris who subsequently offered some of Day's songs to her husband Stevie Wonder. The Motown legend later linked Day with industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Day who was linked with Gurvitz and Jeffrey Evans Buskin Label Day, became a YouTube sensation after which she signed with Warner Bros. In 2012 Day released Forever Mine as her debut song on YouTube. This song was immediately taken up and played on radio by many DJs. After signing with Warner Bros. Records, she began working alongside producer Adrian Gurvitz to create her debut album "Cheers to the fall" (2015). It featured the track Rise Up that has since become a global song of the social justice movement. Day received two Grammy nominations in the category of Best R&B Album for her album. The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a concept-album about the legendary jazz singer's life and career, came out in the year 2019. The United States against Billie Holiday was released in 2021. This was the year she appeared in the film Holiday. Andi Mathichak was born America. She started her career on TV series like Orange Is the New Black, 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods. Her film debut was when she appeared as Allyson in the series of horror Halloween. Andi is an American actor who was born in Framingham on 3rd May 1994.
