Ina Garten is known as a well-known American cookbook author for many seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa and began its run in 2002. Ina began her writing career by creating nuclear energy policies as well as budgets for the White House. Ina initially enjoyed the intellectual stimulation that came with her work, but she quickly lost the interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty restaurant. It took her 18 years to make the business extremely profitable prior to selling it and grabbing a pen to write her first book. Numerous magazines and cookbooks came later. Between them she also had her own Food Network show was also a success. She also sells a range of items ranging from cooking materials to equipment and storage containers. Ina has never attended any cooking school and has not been employed in restaurants. She's completely self-taught. Ina is well-known as a cook who is simple and has her entertaining manner. Her most well-known recipes include simple recipes such as Skillet Roasted Lemon Chicken Macaroni and Cheese with Beef Bourguignon and the Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
